I agree with Kat it may not be a very good idea to

ask

for money in a press release.

We should not ask for it, but we should subtly make readers aware of the community fundraising process, so that those who already use Wikipedia occasionally and always wanted to give something back and who read the PR know that they now have the opportunity to do so.

The occasionnal reader, seing the PR in the press will probably have the reaction to drop by. Then, he may see a donation link quite well, if placed appropriately on the main page. We can make it quite proeminent during promotion time.
