Is the whole thing with Wikipedia being blocked in China over now? Is it completely accessible for everyone again? And how big are the chances of this happening again?
These are just questions out of curiosity.
Timwi, the Wikipedia is now completely accessible from China. The access was gradually reinsated a few weeks into June.
As is the case with these type of stories, the block gets lots of fanfare, the lifting usually does not. Also typical is that there was no official explanation for why the block was put in or lifted. Here is the article and quote by Jimbo which helps explain some of this: http://www.chinatechnews.com/index.php?action=show&type=news&id=1350

Maybe this is an uneducated question, but does this have any potential for trouble? Could it get any of the people coming to the meeting in hot waters due to the "controversial" nature of the Wikipedia project?
Unlikely. It is an meeting of folks who met on the Internet, so as long as it is nothing politically motivated, it's fine. OTOH, if you don't hear from me by Wednesday, call my lawyer. :)

Lawyer was not needed. The first ever China meetup went well - folks talked about the June Internet block, effects on users/readers and living with traditional/simplified Chinese. We even had non-Wikipedians come by who were interested in library science and IT side of the project.

Thanks go out to User:Mountain for the location at Peking University, and the food and drink.
