this mailing list would be one for wikimedia wide discussions.
5 days is naturally too short a deadline for any multilingual vote. 7 days is a minimum to find translators, have translation done, have the announcement adverstised, and let people time to vote.
I suggest deadline is saturday 3rd of april. Any time shorter than a week is not an option.

I disagree. The creation of a new mailing list is not a major issue, we do not need to bother every single Wikipedian about it. It's enough to get feedback from a selected sample of Wikipedians from all major languages.
In response to your earlier concerns of the same nature regarding the edit summary prefill poll, I had already chosen a deadline of 5 days instead of the 3 days I used for that poll, to allow for 2 additional days of translating the very small announcement and proposal. I consider this a courtesy to you and an attempt to meet you in the middle. I'm not willing to go any further. If you want a longer deadline, start a vote on the deadline, and let's use the results of that vote as a precedent for similar cases in the future.
Regards,
Erik

It is true that the creation of a new mailing list is not a major issue, but five days is really to short to allow any issue to be translated and discussed in all different language Wikipedia. This is really a clear case of English language people deciding for others.

So, what is new about that?
