I agree with this, but what do you think of having all the articles at _both_ en.wikipedia.org and www.wikipedia.org, with us subtly promoting the latter by hardlinks?
Well, Mav does make some good points, and while I'm generally not fond of symbolic gestures for their own sake, I don't particularly oppose them if they're harmless. Having "www." be a direct DNS alias for "en." would not impose the costs of an intro page, and would minimize link rot. The only downside then would be the same kinds of glitches we had when we moved to ".org", with people losing logins because of cookies and bookmarks and such. I think that's tolerable.
