[[special:Statistics]] lists "junk pages." How is a junk page defined? What can we do to eliminate or improve them? How do we find them?

$z = $totalPages - $talkPages - $commaPages - $redirectPages ;
So, in theory at least, it should be all pages that aren't in a talk namespace, aren't redirects, and don't have a comma. Unfortunately, the actual number isn't valid, since the sets of talk, comma, and redirect pages can overlap.
There's no function that lists pages with these exact properties, but [[special:ShortPages]] (labeled as "Stub Articles" in the sidebar) will find most of the same stuff -- non-redirect articles with no actual content -- sorted from the smallest zero-byte-long pages on up.
