I can not believe it, again!
Mav, just in the moment I pressed the send-button to the previous email I got this comment on the German Donations-Page:
"Ohne eine eigene Organisation in Deutschland ist die Wikipedia, bzw. die deutsche Wikipedia mit all ihren Ansprüchen doch sowieso zum Scheitern verurteilt. Gibt es etwa keine?!!!"
translated: "Without a separate Organisation the German Wikipedia with all its Claims is condemned to fail anyway. Is there really not one?!!!"
Maybe with comments like this you can imagine how hard it is to tell people in Germany "Wikipedia is hosted in America"...
Sorry to bother you again with this, Fantasy :-)

Come on Fantasy, Heinz is a known troll, don't take this serious.
But it is true that many German Wikipedias (and I'm one of them) think that things are evolving much too slow, and that there isn't much we can do about it. Our servers have been much too slow most of the time, but Ibiblio has offered to host parts of the project or the whole thing if we wanted. I'm sure others would also host Wikipedia with greatest pleasure. But Jimbo has rejected this offer. Now we are waiting for him to fill out the foundation's request for tax exempt status, to open a German/European bank account, to buy a new server, etc.
I know this sounds ungrateful, and I'm sorry for this. I adore Jimbo for what he has done, and I'm very thankful that he has spend so much money on the project. But it's also true that he's a bottle-neck like most benevolent dictators are.

It's also my feeling and I suppose that it's the case of a lot of other contributors.

This has been a pet peeve for a while, but is there a reason why the Users are not listed when a "diff" between versions is displayed?
"Revision as of 06:51, 22 Sep 2003" "Current revision"
I constantly find myself going to edit history after hitting "cur" just to find out who did what. It would be nice to have it all on one screen, such as: "Revision as of 06:51, 22 Sep 2003 (User:Cabalamat)" "Current revision (User:Fuzheado)"
