Please make the colors go away!!! And (same old song, different tune) WHY make such a huge change without explaining it where people will see this??? It isn't intuitive for people to go to FAQ when there has been a change -- why not just let them know ahead of time -- and as a blurb on Recent Changes, since that's where most of the addicted start????

Or at least make them lighter--the green on feature requests is fine on my monitor (Hitachi CM715; Netscape 6), but the gray on "recent changes" is dark enough to make reading harder.
But, as implied by my specifying monitor hardware and browser, this is going to be hard to tinker with: what works for me may not work for someone else.

Agreed, they're icky. Magnus, would you be terribly upset if we redecorate your colors with something a bit lighter? Say:
$wikiNamespaceBackground[$wikiTalk] = "#eeFFFF" ; $wikiNamespaceBackground[$wikiWikipedia] = "#eeFFee" ; $wikiNamespaceBackground[$wikiUser] = "#FFeeee" ; $wikiNamespaceBackground["log"] = "#FFFFcc" ; $wikiNamespaceBackground["special"] = "#eeeeee" ;
These are much less eye-searing to me.
(Also, I'd prefer to see these set in wikiSettings, not wikiTextEn. In particular, they should be overrideable in wikiLocalSettings, which currently is not possible for anything set up in wikiTextEn. Objections?)

Or, make them the colors of the headers and footers...
