Hi,
The Võro language has had now its own ISO code vro for about two years but the Võro Vikipeediä works still under the URL: fiu-vro.wikipedia.org. Would it be possible soon to change it to the vro.wikipedia.org?
Best wishes Sulev Iva from the Võro Vikipeediä

This is being discussed these days by the Wikimedia Language committee and may changed soon.
Hoi, It was discussed at the Berlin hackathon. The consensus among techies is that the list grows longer and at some stage it is good to bite the bullet.
I hope that this will be soon and yes I vro.wikipedia.org would be good. In the meantime they can have a redirect for it. Thanks, GerardM

Wikis have never been renamed as of now, but there's a big list of wikis waiting to be renamed: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19986
I suggest that you file a bug about the fiu-vro => vro change soon. You should include a link confirming the new code and also include a link to community consensus if possible.
I think change xxx-xxx > xxx is not worth extra efforts of small wikis' communities (to file new bugs, organising/proving consensus of community etc). At least for Võro Wikipedia it's not a real bug or problem and the wiki can very well continue also under an old xxx-xxx code. It just seems to be wise, correct and systematic to use an official code for all wikis that have such code.
Best wishes Sulev Iva

Do you realize how easy it is to file a bug? :-) If you don't want to do it, I guess one of the people in the thread could do it -- it's just easier for you to do it because then you are kept in the loop about questions, changes, and other developments.
How this?

I was on my phone before, but now I have access to a desktop so I went ahead and created the bug request: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29186
I added Amir, Gerard, and Sulev to the CC, because they had Bugzilla accounts and participated in this thread.
How is Bugzilla?

It's nice, it's a really convenient way to file bugs that's accessible to anybody, including lay users, so long as they're aware of its presence.
