WHO isnt worried about bandwith, then? <g>
Good luck getting everything back to normal
As far as I can see wikipedia is dead in the water at the moment. I have been unable to post since about 7 am BST (about 12 hours ago, and Error 500s seem to be the order of the day. Am I alone in this?

:-) Well, we perhaps should be worried about bandwidth as long as we're still running UseModWiki!

Things are getting better. I made some changes to optimize things, one big tip came from the master, Clifford Adams himself.
The problem, speaking globally, is that Clifford's original design goals were toward a small and easy installation. He never envisioned a wiki trying to handle this many pages and updates and pageviews.
Still, his software is well written so that it's mostly a matter of me identifying bottlenecks and speeding things up.
