You created a statu of bureaucrat so Wikipedias are not any more need to request the developers to ratify the vote of the new administrators, but the only user who has this statu on French Wikipédia is a user that don't taking part in French Wikipedia and who don't speak French. Can you make some French-speaking bureaucrats?

Unless i'm mistaking, any sysop can make other users sysop. Bureaucrat kind of disappeared :)

On French Wikipedia, sysop get a message "you need bureaucrat statu" when trying to acces the "Turn a user into a sysop" page.

no Ryo, it is not so. It was not very well explained, but you need to be bureaucrat to make people sysop, and a bureaucrat is a sysop which needs a special status given by a developer. Bureaucrat did not disappear, they do not exist for us. On fr, nothing has changed because no one is bureaucrat, but E23, who is a non french speaking developper. I suggest you (I think Shai was interested as well) ask a developper to make you bureaucrat on fr, so we do not have to bug a developper any more :-)

I did understand that. But I'm also _certain_ at some point I _did_ access the 'make sysop' page. IT has a plain text box to enter the user's name :)
I suggest you (I think Shai was interested as well) ask a developper to make you bureaucrat on fr, so we do not have to bug a developper any more :-)
I have no objection to being bureaucrat - but maybe we should ask the opinion of other french contributors.

I tried to set it up so that any sysop could do it, but Erik reverted it back to the bureaucrat scheme.
