Election Notice
Given the response of many respected users, we have decided to adopt a new election system.
Each voter will be allowed to vote for as many of the candidates as they see fit for each position. The candidate with the most votes for each position, will be declared the winner.
In the event of a tie, a run off election will be announced.
We encourage everyone to vote only for the candidates you think would be best suited to serve on the board.
Thank you,
Danny

When there are only two positions to be filled, this should effectively turn the election into a joke.

Why would that be? It's fine even if there were only one position to be filled --- see [[approval voting]].

The point is one of process. I am aware of FPTP and its problems, and I certainly feel that we could improve on that method. The time to do that comes before the election starts. There may be merit in approval voting; it may also have its down side. I can't say for sure.
What creates disrepute is the sudden adoption of these things *after* the election process has started. Did we learn nothing from our experience with the logo vote?
