Is including an image of a logo a breach of copyright? I saw http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PalmOne and wondered about this. I would like to include the logo for Handspring Inc. . Will this be possible?

Logos are almost always copyrighted. Uploading them to Wikipedia is a breach of copyright law which may be defensible under the fair use doctrine, which see:

Whether fair use images are appropriate for Wikipedia is a question for the ages.

Better ask: will it be necessary? Is it worth violating the idea of Free Content to have a curvy X with a circle at the bottom on some page? If you really think the article needs an illustration, why not draw a picture of a Visor yourself? Or take a photograph of someone using one? Use some image you own the copyright to.
If you're insistent that only the corporate logo will do, you can always ask PalmOne corporation if it's OK to license their logo under the GFDL, of course:

Thanks. I will take a photograph of my Handspring Visor, and use that. (That X with a circle is actually a person named "flip" who is doing a cartwheel. LOL)
