I wish to learn if there exist a bot or page can retrieve all pages ever created from a particular country.
I order words, to know all pages from a particular country.
Any like that?
Thanks.

Yes. Created by users from that country.
Thanks for the correction. On Aug 17, 2013 9:20 PM, "Federico Leva (Nemo)" nemowiki@gmail.com wrote:

Ok, so no we don't and it's not possible, except for unregistered users. We have something for edits, though: http://stats.wikimedia.org/wikimedia/squids/SquidReportPageEditsPerLanguageBreakdown.htm It should be good enough if we assume that the proportion of edits which are article creations doesn't differ hugely from country to country. There's an ongoing discussion about producing more breakdowns of aggregated data on editors at http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/analytics/2013-August/000857.html , if you're interested.

Ultimately, the only thing we know about an article's creator is what that creator has stated publicly. So for a given country, you *could* do something for "created by self-described users from that country" by using, eg,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedians_in_Singapore
and running the names through http://tools.wmflabs.org/xtools/pages/
It'll take some time and get you a list of pages, but it'll have some big problems:
* it'll miss out all the users from Singapore who haven't publicised where they're from * it'll include articles they wrote when outside of Singapore * it'll include articles by people who say they're in Singapore but aren't really
So perhaps not a very useful list, all told...
Andrew.

And it will need to be re-done periodically.
A tool to catch all edits by users in a category would be useful for some other categories, though.

Rather than give these workarounds, it might be useful to know *why* you want to know this information. That is, what is your end goal? We may be able to suggest a better strategy if we know that.

Okay Elias.
The goal for such a tool is this: a group of contributors to Wikipedia from Ghana, wishes to know all articles that have been submitted by Ghanaians, about Ghana or anything Ghana-related over a period of time (for instance, within 5 years ago)
Thus, we hope we can scan through such list to know which article(s) to improve and/or add images to. Contents relating to Ghana are scattered and hard to locate by hand, I think. Using the country sorting way, we hope we can pull all articles submitted from Ghana (perhaps using its IP), created by a Ghanaian (person with Ghana badge on profile), and/or articles categorized under Ghana.
In fact, I was thinking a tool of that sort existed. However, if not, I think the suggestions aforementioned in this thread are good enough to help us retrieve what we're looking for.
Thanks.
