Hi folks,
This an invite to all the folks who are unhappy with the present VfD process:
Please consider joining WikiProject Deletion sorting ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Deletion_sorting ).
We need your help to overcome community inertia and help bring the deletion process back down to a human scale. VfD itself has grown beyond the human scale, and unless we all work together we'll never get it fixed. Help is especially needed with:
1. Detailing exactly how a finalized system would work. 2. Harvesting VfD, CfD, TfD, and RfD listings and sorting them into the proposed categories at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Deletion_sorting/Beta . 3. Critiquing and improving said categories. 4. Documenting *specific examples* of the present VfD system's many serious problems. (inappropriate use, incivility, reflex voting, etc.).
I know I'm not the only one disappointed by the community's reactionary response to efforts at fixing the broken VfD system. However, in the end we are the Wikipedia community. If we don't find a way to fix this problem, nobody is going to come in and fix it for us.
Let's get to work!
Cheers,
