Just don't tell Larry ;-)
Why should Larry mind, since he's the one who said, "Subpages would be nice, I suppose, for other namespaces, like the Wikipedia namespace and the User namespace." I'm also firmly against the use of subpages in the Talk namespace and I'm not thrilled about having them in the Wikipedia namespace, but I don't like how many user pages just get so big!

Did we consider yet a new scratch: namespace for temporary or working pages?

Please don't do that. Meta is bad enough.

What's the purpose?
It'd be a neater solution to user subpages, IMO. [[scratch:Khendon's things to do]].
Also, [[scratch:United Kingdom]] rather than [[United Kingdom/Temp]].

Hmm... The nice thing about the user namespace is that it is clear that whatever's there is stuff put there by a single user. The scratch namespace would be open to all manner of nonsense from anyone, right?
Also, [[scratch:United Kingdom]] rather than [[United Kingdom/Temp]].
Why should either of these exist?

[[United Kingdom/Temp]] existed while it was being constructed to a new template. I can't remember specific examples, but I've seen similar things happen to other pages while they're being converted.

I STILL don't see why that should exist. What is the problem with just putting the template on the page, if necessary with a meta-remark that it is still being worked on?
