Hello, I was made for the input symbol like "<nowiki>Ė̅</nowiki> " but now I don't see the letter - I see the code including <nowiki>. It is in samogitian wikipedia. Arns Udovīčė

Looks fine to me.

In normal view it looks fine but in edit window toolbar seems with code not letter :( For example: http://bat-smg.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Tel%C5%A1%C4%93&action=ed... edit -> redaguoti Arns Udovīčė

It is because edit code seems like: <nowiki>Ė̅</nowiki> :(

This is because a bug was fixed, and apparently someone was relying on that bug when listing the items in MediaWiki:Edittools.
If you can explain to me what this construct was supposed to accomplish, I can try to update the charinsert extension to support it more conveniently.

It has to write a piece of code into artisle. In html Ė̅ and ė̅ is two letters that we use. If <nowiki>Ė̅</nowiki> code is in article (not edit tools) it gives me letter. Arns

In that case you can simply put the letters into the <charinsert> in MediaWiki:Edittools then; in my testing it appears to work fine. Can you show a situation where it doesn't work? (If so please provide details of exactly what doesn't work as expected, how, and when using what browser version and OS.)
