Hi all,
I would like to ask for everybody's opinions on http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Problems_with_server-side_Chinese_to_Chinese_...
It includes examples, such as how "Queen Sonja" ends up being converted as "After King Sonja".

Assuming the number 20,000 quoted in the "Statistics" section is accurate, it does not mean we need to have 20,000 entries in the database. For a lot of the one-to-many mappings, one of the "many" part occurs more often others, so a default rule to map to that one character resolves a large portion of the problem.
But I don't have a good sense on what the actual number is and how good or bad the current situation is. The two examples you quoted should have been resolved a long time ago, though. If not, there are easy ways to fix them (in wiki fashion) as described in http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:%E4%B8%AD%E6%96%87%E7%BB%B4%E5%9F%BA%E7%99...
