I uploaded a slightly enhanced version, again at

Please test it with Esperanto as first browser choice, it should say "Esperanto test" or something in the title.
I left the smallcaps in for now, as I like them, and Opera needs fixing ;-)

Jes, it works.
I seem having missed the point: If you don't have the first language, use the second (or following) languages of the user _before_ falling back to english. (You may test this yourself using any other unknown language at first place.)
Good night Paul

Belege, dankon! Here's a draft for the text:
I'll whip up some PHP for parsing the accept-language header in a sec...

OK, new version is up. It will go through the browser languages until it finds one. It doesn't use quality checking, though.
I also put up Brion's eo text.

Thanks! A couple small corrections:
"Vikipedia" -> "Vikipedio" "Esperanta Vikipedio" -> "Esperanto-Vikipedio" (Chuck's recommendation is right; it's better for search-engine whoring ;) and "We are working on 12345 articles" -> "Ni verkadas 12345 artikolojn"

It doesn't seem to do this for me. I tried Basque-German-English and got English text. OTOH, the English wikipedia wasn't highlighted either. So maybe there is a Basque version but the text hasn't been translated yet? Fair enough, but in the real version, we should make sure that we don't count as recognised any language whose text we haven't yet gotten around to writing.
(For the record, lest there be any confusion, I chose Basque at random, since all of the languages that are normally in my browser preferences are already listed on the test page.)
