Our software really hasn't been designed for ease
of installation. I
strongly recommend UseModWiki instead (
http://www.usemod.com/cgi-bin/wiki.pl ). It's a snap to install: just
put a single Perl script in your cgi-bin, create a directory for you
wiki data, and edit the config file. It's wiki syntax is almost the
same as Wikipedia's, and you can easily set up an editor
password, so that no one without the password can edit the wiki.
I've installed wiki's before, but my opinion is, that since I'm wanting to
do a VERY similar project to wikipedia, except orientated towards
grassroots/environmental/sustianable/justice (
www.recyclopedia.info)...
that the wikipedia is by far the most superior wiki. The only reason why I
said twiki was because it allows for groups/access control... usemod as
far as I know does not allow this? twiki doesn't look as nice as wikipedia
either in my opinion.
Any further ideas? Perhaps someone with an interest in this idea would be
willing to install it for me? I'm definetly willing to pay for their
time...
