I'm afraid that I can't sign that petition. ^_^
You're right, but I see it as "geeting one's foot in the door". The
abolition of copyright law in the near future is unlikely.
BTW, I hope Lessig will publish a list of the "works using public
domain", there might be some interresting projects for us.

But we need use more the social function of property and specially of intellectual and
industrial property.
I.e. why a patient cannot use Injectable Omeprazol in Europe sometimes ??. Because there
is only one producer of it. For me, there is rights higher than immaterial property.
