Hi Michael,
According to our tip line at The Wikipedia
Signpost, the Russian
Wikipedia has some kind of notice on their front page, apparently about
winning some kind of honor for the Russian-language Web. If so,
congratulations! Anybody who reads Russian or knows something more about
this?
FWIW, there are some English captions on some the photos at
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Premia_Runeta_2006 .
Here are a few:
"Russian Wikipedia - Runet-2006 prize winner. Ajvol addressing the
audience after receiving the prize."
"Russian Wikipedia - Runet-2006 prize winner. Stas addressing the
audience after receiving the prize."
"Russian Wikipedia - Runet-2006 prize winner. Wulfson with the prize
in his hand."
Ah! So that explains the addition to their logo! Congratulations to
ru.wiki, anyway.
