I got an error 500 there, but anyway.
This is caused by a combination of two bugs - first of all, the OAuth implementation on the uploader end redirects you to https://tools.wmflabs.org instead of https://tools.wmflabs.org/gerrit-patch-uploader. Secondly, https://tools.wmflabs.org 500's (for a reason unknown to me). If you go to https://tools.wmflabs.org/gerrit-patch-uploader, you will see you are logged in.
I don't remember the outcome of the ever-repeating discussions on the topic: this works only for web applications as of now, right? Because each app needs to have a secret key which can't be distributed as, well, it's secret.
Correct. I'm also not sure if the oauth team is making any progress on this issue. However, obtaining a secret token that works for the logged in user is possible (although not completely trivial). That would basically make the process comparable to Google's one-app passwords.

Hi:
Sounds great (as geek-developer), but, we have non-editors as jury, How will work oAuth if they don't have WMF account?. A problem to be analized in the future :)
Regards!

People who don't have a Wikipedia account won't be login in to our tools anyway and if they want to they just go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:UserLogin/signup

If you replace Wikimedia by Google in that phrase, it sounds evil.

Ehm... I don't like the idea, because I can't send an email to "invite" signup in WMF projects if they only want use the Jury Tool.... anyway, a great improve for 2014 :)

In our jury most of the judges don't have Wikimedia accounts and there is no expectation of enough technical savviness (sp?) to create one. In any case using Wikimedia accounts means that we would still need to set up restrictions to only allow specific users to judge, so that kind of defeats the point. As it currently stands, we set up all the user accounts for our judges, which expedites the judging process. From my experience having them do any extra work would delay the judging by several days and just make everyone more angry.

I don't think registering on (or logging in) one of Wikimedia sites would need larger effort from jurors than registering (or log in) in the current jury tool.

To be honest, I haven't used this year's jury tool and don't know how the registration system works. I therefore apologize if I misunderstand the intentions and how it works today. However, ideally (from my experience) the admin should set up all the user names in order to save time for the judges who are not necessarily tech-savvy. For example, on our jury aside from the Wikimiedians, all the judges are either professional photographers or restoration experts/curators. One or two of them rarely use a computer at work, and one judge doesn't have a personal email address. Maybe in other countries you don't have this problem, but for us if we forced the judges to register, they might simply not be able to judge.

Remember that you can also create the account for them on the wiki.
