Hi,
I was bold today, and sorted the list of posible exhibitions chronological (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012/Exhibit...).
Tomorrow will be the official opening of the exhibition in Gouda, as I was not involved in the actual work, I am very curious about the result.
I seems that there are still some opportunities for people, and a bit curious how final some suggestions are, so just a friendly reminder for people about this exhibition.
Regards,
Andre

This is the route at the moment - subject to transport solution

Excuse me if I misunderstand something, but why should it go through customs at all? We are talking about posters, right? Is it not easier to print the posters locally?
Cheers Yaroslav
Yaroslav is right. Maybe it could be cheaper printing localy the pictures, at least in some places and when the travel is very long.

It is not even yet set in stone that the exhibition will be travelling to Russia, as it is my belief that--once again--we are having difficulties reaching the team behind Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 in Russia.
For now, the exhibition is organised so we do not have to cover the costs of printing several different posters and manage them all at the same time. We decided to print them in one place and then ship the exhibition around the world to guarantee almost the same experience for all visitors -- something that does not necessarily need to be reached with different exhibitions printed on different materials and using different techniques.
Of course, as the images are released under CC-BY-SA 3.0 (localised), everyone is welcome to create their own exhibition by taking a leaf out of Wikimedia Poland's book.
I understand it, thanks.
I have a new question then, because this week we received a proposal to host the exhibition. Could we profit the exhibition and host it in tow different cities in the same region. The original proposal was Alicante, in the south of Valencian Country, but now we have a new proposal in Vila-real (my town, by the way), in the north of the same region. Maybe it could keep 10 days at each place, couldn't it? What do you think?
And another one: people who have listed the exhibitions on Wikimedia Commons wrote not concrete days, but a month. Does it mean that the exhibition will stay there all the month? I ask it for knowing if there are some weeks left between the listed proposals. The only month free was June, so I placed Spain in this month.
And the last one: which expenses will be covered by international organization and which ones must be covered by local organization? Thanks!!
Regards
Santi WMES

Hi Santiago, thanks for the message. Answering your questions in a chronological order:
#1: I believe that local organisers are free to do whatever they want with the exhibition; if you think that hosting it in two or more cities for a week at a time would work better for you than having it in a single place for three weeks in a row, then you are welcome to move it between the cities.
#2: The dates listed on the Wikimedia Commons timeline page are only rough, as I take it that people did not have those details at the time when they signed up on that page.
As far as I see, Wikimedia Sverige wants to hold the exhibition for a couple of days before and after a local museum conference that is due on May 15-17, and I am sure that you could discuss the details between yourselves (but please keep Barbara Fischer in the CC, as she's the person responsible for dealing with the exhibition on behalf of the international team).
#3: The international team will cover full costs of shipping the exhibition to and from your country. At the time when we discussed the details of the exhibition (October-November) we also agreed to cover some costs of promotional materials (leaflets, flyers, posters, stickers etc.), but I am not sure whether this is still the case; I guess that Barbara might have more details about that.
If you need money to cover the costs of shipping the exhibition between two or more cities in your country, this should also not be a problem; in any case, I think we'll need to discuss everything on a case-per-case basis.
Thank you Tomasz. Your answer has been very clear and it helps us a lot.
