since most of our Swedish Monuments don't have a useful name or
address our monument map
http://wikilovesmonuments.se/delta-i-tavlingen/hitta-monument/ only
shows the id and municipality. This information is often not
sufficient enough at all, if you don't know if you are looking for a
house of a stone. As the WLM database contains the registrant_url i
made a quick fix by copying the WLM api into my toolserver directory
and made the ID a link to the registrant_url (see attached patch for
include/FormatKml.diff). Is there any nicer way to get the same
result, or otherwise if we are not the only ones needing it: Can
somebody add the patch to the main API?

Many US historic districts have had several expansions, which results
in multiple reference numbers. In at least two cases, Charleston
Historic District in South Carolina, and one earlier, having multiple
refnums in the table results in the upload button being disabled. I
removed the extra refnums (leaving the first) in both cases and the
upload button then worked.
Any suggestions for a general fix?

Hi All,
The contest if off to a good start but traction for the mobile app is
lagging. So far we have 300+ uploads and about 1500 installs of the app.
In some countries, the app will broaden participation, so it is a good idea
to let your communities know the app is available. We have created a sample
banner here:

Which you can modify as desired. The text is editable so it is easy to
translate, or feel free to change the text.
The download link is in the banner text and graphics and QR code, so don't
worry about that.

Hi all,
I spent some time today looking at opportunities for us to promote
Wiki Loves Monuments on cultural heritage-related conferences (both
academic and those less professional, too). For now, it looks like
we've missed some great opportunities, because conferences generally
have early calls for papers :-(
In any case, I have only found three interesting conferences, all to
be held in Germany ("Summit of Newthinking", "Denkmal" and
"Re:Publica" in 2013), and would like to ask for your help.
Do you happen to know about any cultural heritage-related conferences
to be held in your country/neighbourhood? I think we'll be mostly
interested in those taking place in November/December/January (and
later, but those wouldn't be known yet). If so, please let us know!
