English Wikinews installation of Education Program extension

On English Wikinews, we recently requested the Education Program extension be installed with the idea of making it easier to recruit classes to participate. We've set up a "course" for new project participants at https://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Education_Program:The_Wikinewsie_Group/New_rep… a way of testing this. Any feedback on our test course would be appreciated. :) How useful is it for potential modeling by instructors? How useful is it for new project participants? That sort of thing. Feedback would be really, really appreciated as we want to be able to see how this works so we can better assist existing contributors and classes that may use English Wikinews. I've talked to a couple of contributors on English Wikinews and we'd really love to engage more with high school and university courses. We just lack the people power to do the outreach to attract them at the moment. Currently, David Blackall at the University of Wollongong has a class using the Wikinews as part of coursework. Hi all:) I decided today to update my LinkedIn profile and while looking up my paper for the Open Education 2030 "Call for vision papers" I stumbled on this page: the Open Education Europa gateway has now been officially launched. And also, hope the Wikimedia Education list members that were recently asking for ideas on introducing Wikipedia editing to their younger pupils find the links useful. Hi everyone, On the French Wikimini (http://wikimini.org), about 10 to 15% of the articles are being written in the context of such small class/school projects (pupils in the age of 8-15). Some of them even took place in North Africa (French speaking parts). If this teacher speaks French, he may find some useful information at http://fr.wikimini.org/wiki/Aide:Enseignants. Otherwise, I'm currently in touch with a teacher form Morocco that would be interested in launching an Arabic version of the project. I could connect them if desired. On Wikipedia in French, there is also a dedicated page, which mentions some interesting projects (usually for older students): http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Projets_p%C3%A9dagogiques. I don't know if a similar page exists on Wikipedia in Arabic. We're looking for a Wikipedia editor with experience of delivering successful events, workshops or training. The position would suit someone with experience of working with professional scientists and with the Wikimedia community. The position is part-time for a fixed term of 6 months.
