Hoi, No, there are several languages that are severely deficiently supported on the Internet.. Several African language are also struggling. The guy asking for better support is an editor not a reader. Readers will not be properly supported and for this changes to the monobook.css do not cut it.
The only reasonable approach is ensuring that there are fonts that provide the support. This is however not a given at all. We have to come up with a holistic solution because we expect people from ALL our projects to use Commons. Thanks, GerardM
