I don't know how, I don't know why, but the main page is giving me "describe the new page here" at the moment.
Doesn't appear to be in the Recent Changes, so I assume there's some other breakage gone on.
This and several other cache-related bugs have been located and fixed in the software repository. It should be updated soon, and this nightmare will soon be over!
In short, we've been having three problems with the page caching:
* Old versions of pages were left in the cache from a couple months ago. These have now been cleared out; thanks Jason!
* Old versions can still get into the cache again when you load them up from the history list. A fix is ready in CVS.
* Pages sometimes spontaneously turn into "Describe the new page here." This appears to be caused by database timeouts that result in a blank page being "loaded" and saved over the cache; a workaround that should stop this is ready in CVS.
Thanks, everbody, for not lynching the programming team while we work on fixing this stuff. :)
