Is it possible, instead of an ISBN link, to send a query consisting of author
and title to the service that the user has selected in preferences?

|I rather like the simple 4 choices there now. AddAll and Pricescan are
|price based searches with Addall searching for used (and expanding
|gradually in that area) and Pricescan listing some deep discount sellers.
|Amazon and Barnes & Noble offer related book, book reviews and reviews by
|book buyers.
|
|I've started an article [[How to find a book]] which I invite participation
|on. It will cover all the finer points including library searchs. When it
|is in reasonable shape a link from the new page would be helpful.
|
|Might later do a [[How to buy a book]] too, but the finding article is
|enough for now.
|
|Listing a few useful books under '''Further Reading''' is I think
a good
|practice, although the selection is certainly subject to edit. Sometimes
|certain books become the standard reference in a area or offer a great deal
|of material that could be used by anyone working on the article.
|
|The ISBN system started about 1970 and only refers to a particular edition
|of a book, obviously title and author search will return much more
|information. It's good if the book used in '''Further
Reading''' has been
|searched first by title and a later edition that is available for a nominal
|cost used is cited. Many many books that have been published lately are
|available for 75 cents plus postage.
