After George Walker Bush we have this sign for outbound links, but really it is not an oubound link - it is a pronunciation. We have the same problems for the language courses on wikibooks and of course also wiktionary.

I don't see such a symbol in my browser - it is indistinguishable from an ordinary wiki link. Though if I go into Firefox instead I do see it. Interesting.

The solution to remove the icon is to assign it to the class "plainlinks". For example: '''<span class="plainlinks">[[Media:En-us-George Walker Bush.ogg|George Walker Bush]]</span>'''

Since the soundfiles are going to be more and more used it would be great if we had a sign (maybe a music note or somethin similar) that indicates that there is the pronucination. This will also help people to immediately understand which one is the point to click on to "hear".

Do you see a solution for this?

It may be possible to set up a special class for media links and set up a special icon for it in your site's [[Mediawiki:Monobook.css]] -- look at the default monobook (http://nl.wikipedia.org/skins/monobook/main.css) and see how it handles the icons for different link types.
