Hoi, On the Dutch wiktionary it has been proposed to change the template for adjective -adj- to -adjc-. The reason for this change is that adj is an ISO 639 code for a language. I am happy to change this template and the places where it is used on your wiktionary..
Please let me know if you have any problems with this.
This is just a suggestion. I think using prefixes similar to Hungarian notation would be a perfect idea for wiki template naming policies. If all languages were prefixed with lang_ or even l_ then you could have say pos_adj for "adjective" and l_adj for "new exotic language". You can also think of the prefix as a kind of namespace. Or perhaps use : instead of _ to make it seems ever more namespace- like.
The downside is longer template names, the upsides are that it's easier to see what unfamiliar templates are for and easier to prevent name clashes.

The ideas of having the same templates everywhere is that unfamiliarity is not an issue as the templates are everywhere the same. The problem here is that it was not a brilliant idea to have within the current system three character acronyms for something other than languages. This is remedied with this change.
Changing the system completely does not make sense as the system is in use on many wiktionaries. From my perspective the Ultimate Wiktionary cannot come soon enough ..
