That Scots doesn't exist is a common belief, based on the assumption that the language is the same as the "Scottish English" dialect common north of Carlisle but with a bit of a comedy accent. Ho hum.

I have no great love for the language or the wiki, but I figure that when I can't understand bits of it and I'm a fluent English speaker from Scotland, this may just indicate something.
