The first thing is we have got over 5 mods now who are either having a break for now or have desysopped themselves and a multitude of users who are on temp or indefinite breaks. This whole episode has done considerable damage to nl.wikipedia.
Also the soap opera in which users were in a revert war over jimbo's vote as it is a vote against the rules. And people including some very langtime mods were arguing that Jimbo doesn't have any say in nl.wikipedia affairs at all and that he was trying to influence the vote. Which is an interesting debating point.
I myself was also told by longterm mods after I gave my apologies that I shouldn't do that as I was influencing the vote.
Waerth/Walter

Regarding the Waerth on Dutch Wikipedia, Jimbo came in to say:
"Rather, I have voted because I would prefer to see a different approach taken in cases like this, an approach which is less confrontational and more about building up friendships and trust among good users."
I wonder what kind of approach he would mean here. Could you please expound?
It seems to me that having the same percentage to *become* an admin and *be removed* as an admin is perplexing.
And I think that many or most of those who voted 'no' on Waerth would agree with this: Waerth crossed the line on a few occassions but has been, overall, a very good user, and we can all understand the reasons for his frustration, even if we don't agree.
I don't know enough of the details of what all has been tried in this case, but it seems sad to me to have a very good user (a steward, well trusted internationally, very often a press spokesperson for dutch wikipedia) desysopped on such a slim process.
