I think this is really great. I think it would get more traffic if there was a java interface.
Most sites with live chat don't ever have anyone on, but our uniquely interactive nature means that there's almost always somebody around.
If we had a web page with a java chat thingy, that'd be cool. Does anyone know a good open source answer?

Hey,
I thought it might be a good idea to have a place to go for real-time discussions, since Wikipedia Chat is somewhat slow. So there's now a
#wikipedia
channel on
irc.openprojects.net
which is also home to many other open-source projects, so I think it's a very good server to be on. Please put in the info in appropriate locations, and feel free to drop by any time you like.
Regards,
Erik
PS: If there already is an IRC channel somewhere, please let me know, I didn't find any using the search.
