I asked the MB collective about this sort of problem, and the conclusion was:
"The first time they ask a stupid question, you point them to the FAQ. The next time they ask a stupid question, you ask if they have read the FAQ. The third time, they have demonstrated that they are irresponsible and therefore they aren't worth your time."
