Generally speaking, it is poor etiquette to "hotlink" images. It may also be illegal if the hotlinked images are copyrighted and not under an open license.
This is the license for musicaliberata: http://musicaliberata.org/oal/
I haven't read it in great detail, but it does seem to be open enough. (However there are attribution requirements that it may be hard to meet and maintain in a public wiki. But we can do it.)
Separately, though, we probably shouldn't "hot link" their images unless they say somewhere that they don't mind it. The reason is that the images are pulled from their server, costing them money for bandwidth. They shouldn't have to pay for the bandwidth of wikipedia, Bomis should.

I have a few questions: # What is the nature of http://musicaliberata.org/ 's license? # Did MarkVdB get permission from musicaliberata.org to get the images of the music from their server from our server? # Shouldn't we set up some protocol on Wikipedia whereby this constantly recurring issue can be systematically resolved?
