Since there seems to be long-standing consensus that wikipedia needs some form of review (as an additional option, *not* as a replacement for the wiki way!), I would very much like the discussion about the "how" to start again, and to reach a clonclusion this time, for a change :-)
[[Wikipedia:Featured article candidates]] has been getting busier and is turning out a little more than one article a day at present. These are articles that theoretically meet the standard of [[Wikipedia:What is a featured article]] (rather than, say, [[Wikipedia:The perfect article]] and are voted to being on [[Wikipedia:Featured articles]] over the course of a week's straw-polls, feedback and improvement. These are the pool of articles that Raul654 draws the Main Page feature from.
If you're looking for a checklist for reviewing an article, [[Wikipedia:What is a featured article]] gives the sort of standard that just about any article should aspire to. Could be useful?
