On the test site, when you click on a map link, you go directly to the map.
One could also be directed to a wikipedia page, giving the choice between several online maps for the coordinates you just clicked on. Like ISBN page, which gives you the choice between several bookstores to look at the ISBN you just clicked on.
This is a good idea. We could name it the wikimap service choice page..
This page could include : if you donĀ“t select the service, you are going to be redirected within 20 seconds (i.e.) to the default ( wider ) service map.
That would not only reduce impact of a map service shutting down, it would also give the used the choice between different kinds of maps. Of course, you'd have to guess which service actually provides a map fot that specific region :-(
