I think the /talk pages are a major plus: it indicates that if you don't agree with, or need further clarification on, what's there that it's discussable.

By the way, this makes getting rid of /Talk pages from ordinary search results a little more pressing. It looks pretty bad to have a /Talk page in a search result. On the other hand, it might intrigue more people--"Wow, here's an *interactive* encyclopedia!"
