This may already be fixed in the new version, but if I do a search for a term and there's an article *titled* that, shouldn't that always be the top search result?
Yes, it should!
1. The search engine for the English wikipedia is a fast one that I wrote myself -- similar to the Bomis search engine -- that uses an alogithm that should push the article titled as the search term to the top. In some rare cases, it might come in second for some reason, though.
2. It takes a *long time* for my search engine to update -- when I run the update program, it takes a few hours. So I haven't put it on a cron, and I run it by hand every couple of weeks. So, sometimes recent articles aren't in the search engine yet, which stinks I know.
3. The new software is currently using a MySQL database search. I have no idea if it is good or not, but my thinking is that once we get moved over to that version, we can play with ideas for making the search engine better.
