Is there a policy on using Google Analytics on Wikimedia sites? I found it on http://th.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Monobook.js. I believed there was something about it in the past that it was not allowed, but I don't remember exactly so I thought I'd better ask here first before telling the th admins that it is not allowed.

It's not allowed.
Admins are not permitted to add things like that under the privacy policy ...

Suitable candidate for the spam list? (If that will affect the contents of MediaWiki: space files.) Those URLs shouldn't ever be on a Wikimedia page, I'd think.

Aren't sysops exempt from the spam blacklists anyway? I could be completely wrong here.

So they could inadvertently make pages uneditable by anyone else?
That wouldn't work so well.. ;) That isn't the case unless something has changed recently.

I stand corrected, thanks :-)

Nobody is exempt. If you want it blacklisted (not an outlandish idea, I think, but requires some consensus) please list it at [[m:Talk:Spam blacklist]] as usual.

You can't stop them ... raw html or JS that does a document.write isn't going to hit the SBL, these aren't external links.
The long terms solution is to further constrain the ability to edit JS and raw HTML than just adminship. The desire to be able to do that has been around for a while but there are a lot of little places in mediawiki that need to be changed for it to happen.

It can be added to $wgRegex. They can easy overcome it, a simple concatenation is enough. But hopefully they will think twice about it if they se it has been blocked?
Specially if instead of "you can't insert google-analytics" or "you can't insert urchinTracker()" they receive a message like "Using google analytics goes against the WMF privacy policy. No, you are NOT allowed to add it. If you're still in doubt ask in foundation-l first"
