Hi all;
In the past years, monuments related to communism in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed. During Euromaidan protests that was increased, with many examples of destroyed sculptures.[1]
I have heard in the news that many more monuments are going to be removed soon by law. I know that it is a controversial topic in Ukraine, but probably we won't be able to take pictures of these monuments anymore.
Is anyone interested on this topic?
Regards

Hello there
What steps exactly d'you suggest? Even if we take pictures of them, we cannot upload them to Commons, as there is no freedom of panorama in Ukraine

With a very few exceptions, pictures of these monuments can not be uploaded on Commons due to the lack of freedom of panorama in Ukraine. Unfortunately, most of the Ukrainin users do not understand the concept of freedom of panorama and upload them anyway. In such cases, the files must be nominated for deletion.
Cheers Yaroslav

Is there an exemption on the Ukrainian speaking Wikipedia (such as Non-free content on english Wikipedia or modern building on french Wikipedia) ?

Yes, I think they allow fair use under certain conditions.

A list of communist monuments would fit? There is one in English Wikipedia.[1] A table with the name, sculptor, location, and image.
Also, can we upload the images to Commons and remove them later?[2] Until they can be restored in the future.

Dear Emilio,
But what exactly do you suggest?
Creating lists to include the photos locally? Taking pictures of monuments that are going to be not monuments anymore? Raising awareness? Smth else?
There can be solutions to look for based on your answer(s) :)

I suggest taking photographs of every monument in risk to be removed. In a WLM fashion.
