Hola,
I know - too many abbreviations! Considering the Wiki Loves Monuments interest Open StreetMap, I was wondering if anyone involved in this is going to the State of the Map conference in Tokyo this September. It is basically their Wikimania and would be a nice outreach. It would be too late to get anything done, but if we get a nice implementation going, might be worth it in the long run.

Just for your interest (it is not an answer to Lodewijk).
In 2011 SotM was in Vienna, and Wikimedia Hungary has offered to cover the participation costs of a member of the Hungarian Open Street Map Community[1]. Participant was NaTToMi, and his report available here[2] (in Hungarian).

Wikimedia Philippines' Eugene Villar (who's coming to Berlin for the Chapters Meeting) is also OSM Philippines president. I think he'd also be going to Japan.

I plan to go this year. :)
I think a talk about WLM would be great there and related mapping tools though not sure how much time I have to hack on them (maybe some mobile stuff) and thus not sure I'd be best person to talk about them. I think the cfp is out for a while so don't have to decide now.
There also is SOTM-EU in Norway I think and SOTM-US. I will probably attend in Norway and hope more Wikimedians from the European chapters can attend.
Cheers, Katie

Ok, I got confused and think the location is not decided yet but last I heard a month or two ago, Helsinki was suggested. (not Norway!). I will probably go no matter where it is. :)
SOTM US is definitely decided to be in Portland, Oregon in October.
