Hi all,
I wanted to write a post on wikilovesmonuments.it telling how to use the upload wizard, but obviously they are not yet available[*]. How can I do that? There's some test version I could use to get images of the procedure and try the procedure itself?
Thanks,
Cristian

Hi Christian,
If you want you can activate the wlm-it campaign for a few minutes, try it out and deactivate it again afterwards.

Sounds like a not-so-good solution to me[*], but, anyway, how can I do that (I am not an admin on Commons or anywhere else).

[*]Since I haven't participated the last year, I would need some time to understand how it works and take the appropriate screenshots. What if somebody mess around in the meanwhile?

Last year we were testing local wizzards on test wiki:
http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadCampaign/wlm-it
and then, they were transfered to Commons.
But anyway - you have to find any Italian Common's admin and ask him/her to be ready to help you in case of any problems with wizzard and related templates :-)

I recommend joining to irc when you need a handy admin. #wikimedia-commons on irc.freenode.net Although try first if there's some commons admin involved in WLM that is available at #wikilovesmonuments
I do recommend testing the campaigns. There can be nasty surprises there (like the 'do not use this' message I mentioned some mails ago).
It should be easy for you to follow the upload steps. But if you find some steps less intuitive than others, that's good too. Please report them so that it can be fixed (or at least documented for participants) before WLM.

Opening up some of the upload forms right now allready is not that big of a problem is it? The forms from last year (at least for the Netherlands) is allready open for 2 years now (since WLM 2010) and also gets used a lot outside of september, making it easier for participants to keep uploading pictures. There is a clear message in the banner that the pictures outside september will not participate in WLM (and the templates do not get added). Mvg, Bas

I think the point was to place it in WLM-mode, so that the screenshots matched the content to be viewed by the uploaders. All WLM campaigns except wlm-se ones are activated right now.

I will do that as soon as we work out a couple of details, thanks for the pointer.
