Hi there again, with the translation of the survey going strong, I think it's time to translate one more thing (but it's the last one this year, I promise!).
Just like last year, we have prepared a thank-you note that will be sent out to all the participants, thanking them for their involvement with Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 and inviting them to fill out the survey. This time, it's based on Commons and uses the well-known translation scheme; please have a look at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:WLM_2012_thank_you/en and if you have a spare minute, please translate this short text into your language.
To make things easier for you (and the participants), I've listed all the languages on top of the page; just click the link and you should be able to translate the text into the language of your choice; however, please make sure to copy the <nowiki></nowiki> trick, as this is what makes the header work.
Again, thanks in advance for your time, and please do not hesitate to ask any questions that you might have!
PS With the survey, we only miss Afrikaans, the two Belarusian ortographies, Hindi, the two Norwegian ortographies, and Slovak while Luxembourgish, Malayalam, Swahili, Tamil and Telugu are still being translated.
It seems that language links on top of the page link to last year templates. Maybe somebody could change the template used in this page?
I've translated into Spanish the 2012 message in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:WLM_2012_thank_you/es
I hope that it'd be OK. If not, please, tell me.
Santi (Millars)

Hi Santiago, thanks for such a prompt reply!
Indeed the links were leading to the last year template; I just fixed them. Unfortunately I do not know any Spanish, so I can only trust your translation skills, but I am sure it'll be fine :-))
Link to the survey will be available in different languages? I've tried with uselang parameter but I only get skin messages translated.

It wasn't picking the message updates. Try it now. It will autodetect you prefer pages in Catalan and show you that, plus you have other languages to choose in the sidebar.
Hi again, this is just to remind you that we /do/ need to have the message translated into as many languages as possible, and as soon as possible.
Currently we only have it ready in Catalan, Czech, Danish, English, Spanish, Estonian, French, Italian, Serbian-Cyrillic, Serbian-Latin, Swedish and Tagalog (out of the 25 main languages used in WLM countries).
I am planning to start sending out the invitation in about 48 hours, that is some time after 14:00 UTC on Wednesday, October 24.
Thanks in advance for your help and your time :-))
Translation of the invitation and survey for Belarusian (both locales) is completed!

Also translated an invitation message into Russian, but proofread required for the sake of people's mental health.

I have fixed a gender bug in IE < 9 and made a summary page showing the answers we will be saving. Please report any issues you view with it.
http://toolserver.org/~platonides/wlmsurvey/wlm2012.php
This also caused the addition of a few more messages to translate: 2012-thank-you-answer 2012-not-answered, 2012-bad-year-answer, 2012-no-comments, 2012-change-answers, 2012-returnto
Odder, Lodewijk, you may want to propose a new wording to 2012-thank-you-answer. I kept it quite simple but it's of course open to changes.
Best regards
Seems good, thank you!
I assume that if no translation is provided, the default will fall to English? In that case, it is no disaster if it is not translated.
All: However, if you would like to improve/add translations in your language you can do so here: https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:MessageGroupStats&group=...
Please note that for Afrikaans, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Luxembourgish, Norwegian, Slovakian, Swahili, Tamil and Telugu the translations are not complete at all and need more work before they can actually be used.
Best, Lodewijk

There is something wrong with 'be' and 'be-tarask'. In 'be', the introduction is not translated, and in 'be-tarask', country names are in English.

What browser and version are you using?
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1229.94 Safari/537.4 (Google Chrome 22)
I'm aware about CLDR not having a be-tarask locale (yet), the best way out would be to set the fallback language to 'be'.

I was unable to reproduce your error. I also asked Chris who was unable to get it. Does http://toolserver.org/~platonides/gendertest/ work for you?

I added be as fallback for be-tarask in r115770 (toolserver) and c29801 (mediawiki).
After debugging it seems that Google Screen Capture extension causes the error.
document.styleSheets[i].href = "chrome-extension://cpngackimfmofbokmjmljamhdncknpmg/style.css"
I disabled the extension and it all went just fine. Both Jimbo and the survey. :) I think you just need to check whether document.styleSheets[i].rules is null in the 'for' statement, or you can catch the exception to silently work it.

I confirmed the bug with that extension [1] and implemented the fix. Rather than the for, it should have been checked in the else, I was naive assuming that if it didn't implement cssRules it would be an old version of IE.
Thanks again for finding out

Works for me now with extension turned on.
I would also consider suppressing toolserver-related warning messages (like 'Replication broken' and other stuff), for the survey only (so people won't be bothered by these things).

Yes, I hid it last night, since they aren't relevant to the survey visitors.
We have 40 answers so far.
I can see that not every participant from Belarus received the thank-you message and invitation for the survey. By now it seems that the invitation was sent only to users with usernames written in Latin script. What's wrong with cyrillic usernames?

I guess it is being sent alphabetically (I also did not receive it yet), and Cyrillic letters will start after the Latin letters are over.

Well found, Paul! This is the kind of things we should catch now and now when running live.
The issue appears because CLDR doesn't define country names in be-tarask, and both be and be-tarask have a fallback of English. What's the expected behavior? Should be-tarask fallback to be ?
Note: the same happens with sr-el, if English names are wrong, you should define what should be shown.

As for the introduction not translated, there are only two items translated in be: the email field and the country names.
Almost all fields are translated at translate wiki:
http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special%3ATranslate&language=be&a...
But the last localisation update from translatewiki was done on 18:17 20 October, so the tool misses all later changes. :(
