Hi everyone,
The mobile app uses a system with different administrative divisions to
navigate the database. So for example:
start -> Netherlands -> Noord-Holland -> Haarlem
In the database you'll see this fields as adm0, adm1, adm2, etc
* adm1 is always the ISO_3166-1 code as described at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-2#Officially_assigned_code_e…
* adm2 is always the ISO_3166-2 code of the subdivision
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-2
* adm3-5 whatever is available
The backend of the api contains some logic to turn these iso codes into
the localized name of the location. So for "nl" I'll see "Nederland",
but a German user would see "Niederlande".
For this to function properly these administrative levels need to be
set. adm0 is always set (I set it when I configure a source), but adm1
needs to be harvested. This is the case for a lot of countries, but not
for all of them. This is a list of countries where this needs to be
fixed. The number between () is the number of items without adm1 set.
Setting this iso code can be done in the header template of the list,
see for example the edit at
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=prev&oldid=570136276:
* Russia (58462) - Brand new lists, please set регион_iso (region_iso)
and район (district) to get navigation to work нп seems to be set for
most entries
* Venezuela (6107) - Needs "estado_iso" (state iso) to be set, under
that municipio and ciudad
* Belarus (4650) - Needs "vobłaść-iso" (oblast iso) to be set, under
that rajon
* Serbia (2112) - Needs "iso" (okrug iso) to be set
* Denmark (1495) - Needs "region-iso" to be set
You can ask the api for a list, for example for Denmark:
http://toolserver.org/~erfgoed/api/api.php?action=search&format=html&srwith…
The rest of the list is lower numbers:
| es | 1340 |
| ro | 609 |
| us | 417 |
| th | 312 |
| ke | 208 |
| aq | 160 |
| ua | 159 |
| nl | 137 |
| hk | 115 |
| tn | 98 |
| cz | 86 |
| jo | 81 |
| ee | 37 |
| il | 8 |
| pa | 1 |

Can someone confirm the date and time of the participation of Israel as it is now in the schedule:
14 September 21:00:00 UTC until 15 October 20:59:59 UTC
(15 September local time is then the first day and 15 October local time is the last day of participation there?)
Is there somewhere an article about the calendar that tells about this month system with the start and end dates?
Thanks!
Romaine
Hi all,
if you're willing to help out other countries, or you have questions
yourself, please know that you can offer that help or get it on
#wikilovesmonuments on Freenode IRC. You can access this through your
favorite irc client (read: Chatzilla ;-) ) or through the webchat:
http://webchat.freenode.net .
Of course you can also keep using this list.
Best,
Lodewijk

Hi Akanji,
it would be great if Japan would participate! Maarten just set up the
infrastructure for Japan based on the English wikipedia lists (thanks!),
see
http://toolserver.org/~erfgoed/api/api.php?action=search&format=html&srcoun….
However, the lists still have to be transformed into templated tables
further.
For the lists in Japanese, I note that such lists already exist on the
Japanese Wikipedia (
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%97%A5%E6%9C%AC%E3%81%AE%E5%8F%B2%E8%B7%A1%…)
but they are in raw Wikitext. I also see that you already worked out
pretty nice templated tables on Wikimedia Commons (i.e.
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013_in_Jap…
)
but I would suggest that you transfer these lists to the Japanese
Wikipedia. We maintain in all countries the lists as much as possible on
the Wikipedias - because these lists are also relevant encyclopedic
information. When the lists are being improved (for example, descriptions
being edited, or coordinates added), that immediately improves Wikipedia
too!
It is still a lot of work, and I hope you get some help too.
Good luck, and please ask questions when there's anything others here can
help you with.
Best,
Lodewijk

Hi all,
For every country we would like to make sure there is an English summary
page describing the contest in your country. The page for Spain is an
excellent example ( http://www.wikilm.es/en/ ). These English summaries are
very important when you hope to get images from foreigners that visited
your country and have tourist photos anyway of all these famous buildings.
That way you get the pictures easily, and these pictures don't lie around
turning into digital dust!
We listed all (up to date) English summaries on
http://www.wikilovesmonuments.org/english-pages/ - the list is still quite
short. Please, email me /directly/ in reply to this email (please don't
email on-list) and I can add your country's summary too.
Best,
Lodewijk
