Hello everyone, We have our next LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group Call on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 16:00 UTC / 6pm CEST (Time zone converter<https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1664899239>). Lana Soglasnova and Roman Tashlitskyy will talk about their preliminary work in creating and editing items for Slavic people and some of the complications involved in this work, especially around transliterating names in various languages. Hi everyone, The LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group<https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_LD4_Wikidata_Affinity_Gr…> has been offering a series of Wikidata Working Hours<https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_LD4_Wikidata_Affinity_Gr…> to give folks an opportunity to try out various Wikidata-related skills and tools by adding data about diverse children’s books<https://ccbc.education.wisc.edu/literature-resources/ccbc-diversity-statist…> from the Cooperative Children’s Book Center at the University of Wisconsin, Madison to Wikidata. Wikidata Working Hours provide hands-on Wikidata experience in a supportive space. We hope you will join us if you are interested in learning more about Wikidata, love children’s books, or have been looking for a fun Wikidata project to contribute to. WHintangible a video contest for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage

Dear All, Wiki World Heritage UG is excited to share with you the details of a new video contest related to UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Items listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage are very important as they represent our traditions, ethnic lifestyles, and culture. Despite this importance, they are less documented than tangible heritage, and even when documented they are documented in a format that doesn't reflect a clear idea of it(mainly text). Because videos are very good to describe intangible heritage and also because they are very important as a format to be uploaded to Commons and used in Wikipedia, the Wiki World Heritage UG is organizing during October and November a video contest with the theme Traditional craftsmanship: crafts inscribed by the UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The contest aims to collect videos showing different skills and crafts from all over the world and use these videos on Wikipedia. *The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)* is seeking a creative and driven Wikipedian In Residence (WIR) to improve coverage of their collections on Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata. PAMM is a modern and contemporary art museum dedicated to collecting and exhibiting international art of the 20th and 21st centuries. MUSEUM: https://www.pamm.org The WIR would be helping PAMM establish Wikipedia programming institution-wide. The Wikipedian In Residence will work closely with the digital team at PAMM with access to curators and staff for support and training. On Wikimedia Commons, photos of living artists will be taken and added with appropriate categorization.
