Hello everyone,
Our next biweekly LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group call is Tuesday, September 22nd at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 16:00 UTC / 6pm CEST. This call aims to sketch a starting point for institutions to think through what is involved in coordinating a Wikidata project, including shared infrastructure, training, and documentation. We will begin with a review of existing documentation for librarians and Wikidata working hours (twice monthly). We will then hear from Alex Jung (University of Toronto Libraries) about the logistics of Wikidata project coordination at libraries, informed by experiences at Stanford University, Cornell University, Harvard University, and the University of Toronto.
The call details are below. Everyone is welcome to attend the call. To receive notifications about upcoming calls and meeting notes you can subscribe to the ld4-wikidata Google Group<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/ld4-wikidata>. If you aren't able to attend, the meetings are recorded and meeting notes available on Google Drive<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xftQTezmXVO0B1WMYoNnkEOrOVYF38nKaXzP7PO…>.
The LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group is associated with the Linked Data for Libraries LD4 Community and investigates how libraries can contribute to and better integrate library metadata with Wikidata to improve access to library resources on the web. The Affinity Group calls provide an informal space to share information and learn more about Wikidata.

Hi all,
The European Commission is currently running an open consultation on access
to digital cultural heritage. The results of the consultation will likely
underpin their policy on this for the coming years (their current policy
was first set in 2011).
We at Wikimedia Sverige will respond to the survey. Our draft response is
open for input from all members of the Swedish Wikimedia community and
anyone who considers themselves a GLAMWikimedian. You can find the draft, a
Google Doc here,
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V5ICjT3qbeeUpWPRnz3C4GYPCoHkaThUbtYpT8A…
If you prefer not to use GoogleDoc there's a PDF version here,
https://se.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fil:DRAFTFORFEEDBACK_Survey_answers_and_posit…
If any Wikimedia chapter or affiliate wishes to express support for our
response or use our response, whole or in parts, in their own planned
response we'd be very happy! Just let me know.
Input on our response is welcome until September 14 08:00 CET. Before the
end of that same day we will submit the response to the EU Commission.
Best regards,
David Haskiya
