Here in the UK, Digital Literacy is a term the education sector is very excited about, so I've written a blog post on how Wikipedia editing relates to that topic. It's already had some favourable feedback and retweets. http://blog.wikimedia.org.uk/2014/02/one-sentence-on-wikipedia-a-microcosm-o...
The "one sentence" idea was inspired by Peter Gallert's talk at the Wikimania education workshop, so thanks Peter.
Martin, this is a great post! I particularly agree with your suggestion of providing basic explanations of complex Wikipedia policies to students and using the more nuanced version as a class discussion topic, delving into the grey areas; I know of several instructors who have used this technique to great success.
Thanks for sharing! LiAnna
