Hi Melissa Guadalupe Huertas (she/her)
Application form - Training of Trainers for Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom.
The application process is much longer. Update it. I opened the application and went to submit, but the application was canceled due to various problems. I will not submit.
Thank You

Hola everybody!
The Education team at the Wikimedia Foundation is happy to announce
that
applications are open for the second cohort of the Training of
Trainers
(ToT) program for “Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom”! This call is
open
for Wikimedians, educators, and members of mission-aligned
organizations
who believe in the value of Wikipedia to advance key 21st century
skills
[1] and who are interested in implementing the “Reading Wikipedia in
the
Classroom” program in their countries.
Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom[2] is a professional development program for secondary school teachers that aligns a critical approach
to
Wikipedia with UNESCO’s Media and Information Literacy framework. You
can
read more details about the impact of the pilot experience in our
report
[3]. The educational resources created for the program are available
on
Wikimedia Commons [4] in four languages.
The Training of Trainers program is a 9-week online learning
experience
that prepares participants to implement the Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom program locally - by the end of the ToT, successful
participants
will be certified to lead the program in their countries.
Participants
who
complete the ToT will also have access to a pool of funding that can support their local implementation of the program. Applications are
open
from *January 31st to February 20th*, 2022. You can find the
application
form, important dates, and general guidance on Meta-Wiki [5] and
check
out
this newsletter article [6] to learn about the experience and
learnings
of
the first ToT cohort in 2021.
You’re also invited to join our information session on February 11,
2022
at 13:00 UTC where we’ll share more details and answer any pending questions (find the link to join on Meta-Wiki [5]). If you have any questions ahead of this event, please don’t hesitate to reach out to
the
team: education@wikimedia.org
We look forward to seeing you at the information session!

The program report shows us how teachers’ attitudes towards Wikipedia changed as they moved through the program. For example, one teacher
from
Bolivia said that at first he “thought that Wikipedia was a platform
like
Google, but now I value all the volunteer work done by the community
behind
it”. The program model also supported members of the local Wikimedia affiliates to improve their capacity to organize and lead education initiatives. Currently, the Wikimedia affiliates in Bolivia and
Morocco
are
working on second editions of the program. [4]
