Hi Tighe, Two relevant experiences from Switzerland.
Personally I am trying to experience more a game oriented use of Wikipedia.
Students writing Wikipedia is a difficult step to reach, the best is to start to train students about the correct use of Wikipedia and of Wikimedia projects. Because we must train students that Wikipedia is based on a community.
This is why I am setting more a “treasure hunt” in Wikimedia projects to find the right information and to address people about the correct use of all features of Mediawiki.
The treasure hunt can be virtual or can be partially real (i.e. finding keys in a real treasure hunt and, trough the keys, finding the articles with the final solutions).
The impact is relevant because students can learn that the team working is fundamental and that the interpersonal communication is crucial.
This model can work mainly during events or presentations like Hack-a-thons (you know that we did a Youth Hack-a-thon on 2016) or in connection with bigger events like Devoxx4kids.
The second experience is to work with GLAM to involve schools to write about history and monuments of Switzerland. This solution works pretty well but it needs to have a committee with a mix of educators, GLAM and wikipedians. This model requires a long preparation and setup.
I can give more detailed information based on the interest of one or both models.
Kind regards

Dear education community,
I've recently been in contact with a researcher who is looking at integration of Wikipedia into the education system and its usage with middle school and high school students around the world.
They are seeking any documentation or data that different programs may have from around the world.
If you have any relevant info to share, please feel free to share on this thread or by responding directly to me, and I can connect you with the researcher directly.
Thanks! Tighe
